I was not in the best of health. It kicked off with that lovely "allergic reaction" that I had. And from then on, I was sick about every other week until I was diagnosed with a severe case of Mono and other things (in the winter:0). You know Bon Iver? Well he also had a severe case of Mono and I think it was pretty much life changing for him, as it was for me. I am grateful for all those experiences that I had. I remember thinking what on earth is going on with my body. Why are my legs constantly aching. Why, if I wanted to, could I sleep 15+ hours a day. Why do I have a soar throats all the time, that are not going away. There was like 6 months of this before I wised up and went to the doctor for a full body exam. Sometimes even now I feel that pain and it stinks, but I am grateful for those reminders. Those reminders that my immune system is finally starting to work properly and that I can run. run far. It was like I had influenza, minus the respiratory for a year. You know, the body ache and fever. anyway, every once and awhile I look back at my pictures when I was really sick and I think about how grateful I am that I have my health back and that I will never take it for granted again. There could come another time or another day that my body will not be well and I know that. We all get older and we all die one day and there will be more experiences with pain...but this life is temporary and one day we will have the strongest bodies of all. For having this knowledge makes me feel free of pain.
